Pro Golf Lessons with Dean Hartman (Lesson 5: Ball aloft the feet)

Pro Golf Lessons with Dean Hartman (Lesson 5: Ball aloft the feet) Video Clips.

Golf is one of the few sports in which the practice area is very different from the the playing area. We generally practice our swing technique from a flat lie at the driving range but once we get to the course we encounter many uneven lies. When this happens we have to be able to adjust. The first consideration with the ball above our feet is where to align ourselves. Anytime we alter the lie angle of the club, we change the clubface aim. To illustrate this I attach a magnetic pointer onto the clubface. If the club is soled flush to a flat surface, the clubface can align itself to the target. But, once you bring the toe of the club up, the aim of the clubface goes to the left. This is more true with lofted clubs like wedges versus less lofted clubs like fairway woods. So our first adjustment is to align ourselves to the right of the target. The second adjustment is to figure out how to avoid crashing our club into the slope. To do this we must stand slightly taller at address and then swing the club on a flatter plane. The lie angle of the club will dictate our swing plane. In this case the lie angle of the club is on a flatter plane and we need to match that up in the backswing and downswing. If we swing the club too upright we will either hit a shot off the toe of the club or crash the club into the slope. To swing on a flatter plane, you simply need to allow your upper body (shoulders) to turn freely back and through on a level plane. Picking the club up with the arms ...

Callaway Diablo Edge Men's Golf Driver
The new Diablo Edge and Diablo Edge Tour 8.5 Drivers are designed to give golfers a distance advantage every time they tee it up. The 4-piece Fused Titanium design creates the most weight efficient titanium 8.5 Driver Callaway has ever made, generating long, penetrating trajectories. The chemically milled Hyperbolic Face produces Callaway’s highest, most consistent ball speeds over the entire face. The new aerodynamic body shape reduces drag during the downswing up to 8%, creating faster impact speeds. Finally, the Aldila Habanero shaft provides incredible feel and is the perfect complement to maximize the 8.5 Driver’s performance.

Callaway Diablo Edge Men's Golf Driver

  • Standard version of Diablo Edge driver with core Callaway S2H2 technology with reduced weight hosel for better stability and included Head cover
  • 4-piece fused titanium modular design delivers distance-enhancing, penetrating ball flight
  • Improved aerodynamic design reduces drag in the downswing for higher impact speeds
  • Chemically milled hyperbolic face cup improves impact efficiency and produces consistently high ball speeds
  • Golf Digest Hot List 2010 gold medal winner

Callaway Diablo Edge Men's Golf Driver
Taking top honors in Golf Digest's 2010 Hot List, this standard version of the Callaway Diablo Edge Driver offers superior face technology, a higher MOI, a deeper CG, and better aerodynamics--all adding up to the longest, most accurate all-titanium driver Callaway has made yet. It features a unique construction that fuses four titanium elements together for optimal weight efficiency and longer ball flight, and improved aerodynamics for reduced drag in the down swing. It's complemented by an Adela Habanero high-performance graphite shaft, which provides incredible feel and performance.

Callaway's standard version of the Diablo Edge Driver.
Standard vs. Tour Models
Diablo Edge Drivers feature two unique shapes, but all the same technology. Both drivers offer a 4-piece fused titanium design, a chemically milled hyperbolic face cup, and an aerodynamic body shape.
  • The standard model features a core Callaway technology (S2H2), which removes weight from the hosel and repositions it in the perimeter of the golf club for more stability.
  • The Tour model has a full-length hosel, less face progression and an optimized center of gravity that provides the look, feel and performance highly skilled golfers demand.

Callaway Core Technology: S2H2
Callaway's patented Short, Straight, Hollow, Hosel (S2H2) shortened the length of the hosel, allowing weight to be moved lower and to the more useful perimeter area of the clubhead. This bore-through design (Modified Tru-Bore Technology) allows the shaft tip to extend through the hosel and clubhead to the sole, improving feel and control by moving the tip of the shaft closer to the center of the clubface.

4-piece Fused Titanium Design
The use of Fused Titanium in a 4-piece modular design produces the most weight efficient all titanium driver Callaway's ever created. Each part is precision-formed and accurately fused together, allowing weight to be positioned optimally, delivering distance-enhancing, penetrating ball flight.

Chemically Milled Hyperbolic Face Cup
An acid chemical reduction process selectively removes unwanted material from the face cup for precision thickness control, resulting in our most consistently high ball speeds ever. And the strategic hyperbolic shaping of the face thickness dramatically improves impact efficiency and produces a larger effective hitting area--resulting in less disparity between the balls you hit in the center of the clubface and the balls you don't.

The sweet spot on a Callaway club with Hyperbolic Face Technology on the left, and a traditionally faced club on the right.

Compared to standard clubs, ball speed on off-center impacts from this club with Hyperbolic Face Technology will be noticeably greater. This contributes significantly to total distance on off-center hits.

Aerodynamic Body Design
Callaway reduced drag in the downswing for higher impact speeds by using an aerodynamic body design that refines and optimizes all edge transitions. This reduces drag up to 8 percent versus other 460cc driver heads.

Antique Irons - The Forgotten Clubs in the World of Antique Golf Clubs

Antique Irons - The Forgotten Clubs in the World of Antique Golf Clubs

Golf Clubs

If you listen in to any conversation involving antique golf club collectors, there are a few things that you are almost certain to hear being discussed.  Unfortunately, antique irons are not likely to be one of those things.  Undoubtedly, you will hear about the hickory golf club fascination and how everyone involved in the conversation has a collection of golf memorabilia which is just a little bit better than everyone else's.

However, antique irons seem to garner very little attention even though they hold a much esteemed role in the history of golf.

Perhaps one explanation is that although the history of golf itself can be traced back as far as the mid 15th century, it is widely accepted that irons were not introduced on a large scale until the later part of the 18th century, in Scotland, the birthplace of golf as we know it.

Another possible explanation is the annoyance of many early on that these additional irons created too many club choices, and markedly slowed down the pace of play.

Initially, irons were introduced as, and used for, hitting from rough or otherwise unplayable lies.  Nearly 100 years later, in the late 1870's, antique irons expanded their reach within a player's arsenal with the introduction of driving irons and mid-range irons.  Until they started to really increase in popularity during this time, most were produced by blacksmiths.

The other interesting fact about antique irons which is common knowledge to the avid collector, but perhaps not by all was the naming conventions associated with these clubs.  Unlike today's names for irons such as 2 iron, 3 iron, 7 iron etc., one would instead today find antique irons called Cleeks(equivalent of a 2 iron), Jiggers(Today's Wedge), Mashies(5 iron), and Niblicks(9 irons). They also lacked then, and do now, a common appearance, as they were not mass produced, but forged by individual blacksmiths.

When you look back at the history of golf, it is clear that antique irons have had a significant role to play in the evolution of the game.  There are some many intriguing aspects to collecting antique golf clubs, and that might be the reason that they are sometimes over shadowed.  I hope your appreciation of them grows just a bit with your newfound knowledge of their role in golf history.

Custom Made Golf Clubs

Custom Made Golf Clubs

Golf Clubs

In this article, I will try to give you a foundation for the importance and variables that go into building a set of custom made golf clubs. For the purpose of this article, we will deal with building your iron set and look at custom fitting your woods in a future article.

I`m sure that you agree that consistently hitting a golf shot, both solid and at your target, is a very difficult thing to do. Careers and businesses have been built just concentrating on helping golfers hit good golf shots. Well, here`s the problem, you have a great, repeating golf swing but you are still not getting the results you want. The problem exists with your clubs. If your clubs don`t fit you and your swing, you are going to hit shots that are pushed, pulled, fat and who know what else you might be doing.

That`s where custom made golf clubs come in. It is very important that you are playing with golf clubs that suit you! I am going to review the different variables that come into play when building a custom golf club set.

Here are the components that make up the custom made golf club.

1. GRIP SIZE

2. SHAFT FLEX

3. SHAFT TYPE

4. LENGTH

5. LIE

1. GRIP SIZE:

Here, we are going to measure from your wrist to top of your middle finger and from the top of your thumb to the top of your middle finger. As a general rule, let`s say that if your first measurement, wrist to top of middle finger, is 6 inches or less you need a small grip, 6 to 8 inches a standard grip and 8 inches plus a midsize grip.

The grip is important because the right grip allows you to swing the golf club freely. A grip that is too small won`t allow you to grip the club securely and a grip that is too large won`t allow you to release the golf club through the hitting area. Also, it is recommended that you use the same grip type through your whole set.

2. SHAFT FLEX:

There are two different measurements that are used, one for your irons and, secondly, for your woods. We will address the irons.

Here`s the iron range (how far you carry your 5 iron):

180 yards plus = S Flex

170 to 179 yards = Firm Flex

160 to 169 yards = R Flex

130 to 159 yards = A Flex

129 and under = L Flex

The benefits of swing the correct flex are obvious. If you are swinging the correct flex you are going to max out your distance/accuracy quotient and as can imagine the wrong shaft flex can lead to all kinds of problems.

3. SHAFT TYPE:

Here we are talking about steel or graphite. I would say this mostly personal preference. The graphite shaft may give you a little more distance with less vibration back into your hands but less accuracy. The steel shaft will be more consistent and, also, there are steel shafts specifically made to lessen the vibration. So, I guess the choice here is all about personal preference. For what it`s worth, you see very few graphite shafted iron sets on the professional tours.

4. LENGTH:

This mainly deals with how tall or short you are. Without getting into the specifics, let`s just say that if you under 5 feet 7 inches you should be looking at shorter clubs and if you are 6 feet 1 inch and over, longer clubs. These adjustments are made in small increments, starting at quarter inches.

5. LIE:

This is the angle that the clubs lays at address. Again, depending on your height your lie angle may need to be adjusted, plus or minus. This adjustment is very important because this lie angle may be what is causing you to push or pull your shots. The lie angle needs to be adjusted depending upon a combination of your height and a measurement of your wrist to the floor.

Those are the components that go into a custom golf club set. As you can see, there are many ways that your clubs can throw your game off and with a few adjustments you can turn those negatives into positives.

The best and easiest fitting system that I have seen is GigaGolf`s eFit System. The system is super easy to use and, as a bonus, GigaGolf has extremely high quality golf clubs at manufacturer direct ( that`s a good thing ) prices. Take a look, I think you will like it.

How to Swing a Golf Club - Use These 3 Golf Swing Techniques and Tips

Golf Clubs

Have you ever wondered why the most amateur golfer did not know how to swing a golf club like Tiger Woods ? If yes, then read on and see how you can improve your swing with these secret golf swing tips and techniques.

A lot of people are thinking that golf is an easy game. But it is a fact that golf needs a lot of practice and mental fitness to do it the right way. If  your handicap is miserable or your scores are too high, then you have to change something in your game.

Well, what can you change? The answer to this question is pretty easy. Just learn how to swing a golf club. I know, this is a very short and easy answer but to improve your game, you have to follow some tips and techniques.

Let me give you 3 secret tips:

1. Your body fitness has to be very good. You need a lot of power to do the perfect golf swing. The power to hit the ball right comes from your arms and hips. So, take care of your body and do some fitness like jogging or swimming.

2. The mental fitness is the next crucial part if you want to understand the inside out of the game. Mental fitness means that you have to be able to concentrate yourself during a match. The right technique is quite hard to learn and to improve. Without mental fitness you would not be able to lower your scores.

3. Ask a friend of yours to film you while swinging the club. This is funny and helps you to improve your motions.

You see, there are a lot of good tips on how to swing a golf club. If you do it right then you will lower your scores and better your game. Some golf training guides are delivering high valued training methods and videos. These kind of guides are very comprehensive and can provide you with a lot of good education. Choosing a Golf Club

Choosing a Golf Club

Golf Clubs

Choosing a golf club can be very difficult if you are an experienced, much less a beginner. The reason finding the right golf club is so hard is because there are so many types, designs, and features you have to consider in correlation to your skill, swing and needs. The following golf club overview might help you choose the right golf club for you, or at least narrow it down.

Cast Iron Golf Club

The cast iron golf club is made from cast iron and the majority of the weight of the golf club is around the perimeter. Because of this the sweet spot is larger and this type of golf club is really great for beginners or those who have trouble making full contact.

Forged Iron Golf Club

The forged iron golf club is generally used by professionals simply because of its design and function. The center of the golf club is the center of gravity and the front of the club is a bit heavier. If you are an experienced player then you might consider a forged iron golf club.

Also, you will need to choose a size for your golf club as well from standard to midsize or oversized.

The standard club is smaller, so the sweet spot is as well. Generally professionals and advanced players use a standard club.

Midsize golf clubs are great because they have a bigger sweet spot and are a bit larger than the standard golf club. Average players frequently use midsize golf clubs because they are easy to control and have a larger sweet spot.

Oversized golf clubs are generally used by seniors and individuals who have a hard time hitting the ball straight on. The one problem with these clubs is they can be difficult to control. The bonus, a huge sweet spot so when you make contact your ball goes further!

Country Clubs and Private Golf Courses

Country Clubs and Private Golf Courses

Golf Clubs

There is an alluring appeal to being a 'Member' of something or having 'exclusive' access to something average Joe can not have. Much of the golfing community chooses to belong to country clubs and private golf courses, and they do so for a variety of reasons. Without question there are some fantastic Country Club golf courses across the country, let's examine the pros and cons of membership at a private golf course.

To begin, more than half of the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. are Country Clubs and require a private membership. Augusta, Pine Valley, Cypress Point, Muirfield Village, Oak Tree; all are private clubs with staggering fees and dues. The truth is that many Private clubs have some of the most fantastic locations, golf courses, and tracts of land available. Most of us will consider the variety of Country Club golf courses available in our home cities. Typically a private golf course will offer a membership with some initial fee for joining and some monthly dues for access to the course. Though there may be some great deals out there, on average a golfer will pay more per round of golf being a member at a private golf club. Another downside to private golf course membership is that a golfer may be compelled to play all or most of their golf on one course, missing out on the tremendous variety of beautiful golf courses out there.

On the upside, most private golf courses offer an elite level of service as well as a broad range of amenities. A typical country club golf course will be supplemented with a large clubhouse with luxurious appointments like locker rooms, spas, formal and casual dining, fitness equipment, banquet rooms or halls, and full service golf 'Pro Shops.' In addition to the private golf course and clubhouse, many country clubs also offer private tennis courts and swimming pools. This is a great way for a family to spend an entire day at the club enjoying multiple activities.

Though a bit less apparent, one fantastic benefit of playing at a private golf course is that you often have the course to yourself. A country club golf course will normally have about half or two thirds of the traffic a public golf course will have. If you play your golf during the week, it's not uncommon to buzz around the course in less than four hours and have no problem walking right on to the first tee. On the weekends, there are less conflicts reserving the tee times you want. Also not as well known is the fact that private golf courses hold frequent tournaments for members, which provides a great way to enjoy friendly competition, meet new people, and even network for your business or professional career.

Another point that can be considered positive or negative is that the country club golf course membership is frequently composed of prominent and successful members of the community. If you are uncomfortable being around certain circles of people then you may want to consult members and faculty about the membership composition. On the flip side, someone searching for advancement or networking opportunities may want exactly that environment. In fact, there is one story out there about a young stock broker that sold everything he owned to pay for a membership at one of the most elite clubs in Florida. Risking everything on his networking ability, he was rewarded by successfully landing many multi-millionaire members as new clients!

PowerBilt New 2011 Golf Clubs

PowerBilt New 2011 Golf Clubs

Golf Clubs

PowerBilt introduces its next generation of the Air Force One driver, the Air Foil 2. This is still the only driver on the market that incorporates nitrogen charged air into its club head design to support the clubface without any internal bracing. The new Air Foil 2 club design has moved this value to the sole so it creates a lower center of gravity; it also features a new aerodynamic head shape with rounded toe for increased club head speed, an open appearance, and new graphics.

If you like to work the ball and have a High MOI for straighter drives, choose the Tour driver with slightly less offset and Fujikura Montore F-3 shaft, if not the High MOI version designed to lower the amount of side spin comes with a proprietary Fujikura shaft designed specifically for the club head. This club was featured in Golfing Magazine as Product of the Week. PowerBilt golf has also added fairway woods and hybrids available in the new Air Foil 2 design.

Other new 2011 club designs include the Air Force One game improvement irons and ultra game improvement irons, which made the 2011 Golf Digest Hot List. The Air Force One N7 ultra game improvement nitrogen charged irons are all pressurized with nitrogen 4 thru PW. The hybrid combo irons have nitrogen pressurized club heads 4 thru 7 and the 8 thru PW have a deep undercut cavity back, a combination with the best of both worlds. The GrandSlam CG, Dynasty, and Junior box sets have all new graphics and look with the same reliable quality and performance.

Coming in May 2011 the new Air Force One Player Series Irons. 3 and 4 irons will be nitrogen charged with a 2-piece hollow core, thinner top line, and thinner sole width. 5 thru PW, GW, and SW made of stainless steel with a reduced cavity back, thinner top line, thinner sole width, a reduced offset, and optimum workability.

So why choose Nitrogen Charged technology? Nitrogen has less pressure fluctuation, larger molecules, is dry, and unreactive to temperature and pressure changes. Compressed nitrogen provides tremendous support to the club face allowing PowerBilt technicians to design a much thinner, lightweight club face; about 20% thinner coming in at 2.6mm thick. The thinner clubface has more trampoline effect; PowerBilt says it is at the maximum allowed by the USGA.

More trampoline effect means more ball speed, which equates to more distance. So you are thinking more ball speed, more distance... but will it go straight? The nitrogen charged club head allows for the largest sweet spot in golf. Pressurizing the club head with nitrogen eliminates the necessity for internal metal bracing and creates equal pressure across the entire face creating what PowerBilt refers to as the first Edge-to-Edge sweet spot. You get all the perks of a longer ball without losing accuracy.

One-Iron - Useless Golf Clubs

One-Iron - Useless Golf Clubs

Golf Clubs

Golfers all have his or her favorite golf iron, but most would agree that the one-iron is a useless club for the most part. Professional golfer Lee Trevino even went so far to say that God could not even hit a one-iron, though he was struck by lightening shortly thereafter. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Trevino may very well be right. Although God may not be able to hit a one-iron, but he obviously could hit Trevino.

The one-iron is typically thought to be the least important of golf clubs, basically just taking up room in the golf bag. It is the longest golf iron and the hardest to maintain any consistent hitting. For the recreational golfer and even many professional golfers, the one-iron is one club that is simply not needed.

When a golfer is in a situation that he or she may choose a one-iron, a wood would be a far better choice. Take the following scenario, for instance. A drive goes 250 yards on a par 4 hole, leaving the golfer another 250 yards away. A one-iron could be used to hit the ball that distance, but the golfer would be in a better position if he or she were to choose the three wood since the one-iron is simply to difficult to control and hit.

Depending on the physical strength of the golfer, the three wood can easily get the ball on the green. The three wood is far easier to hit than the one-iron, as well as easier to control. In such a scenario, it would certainly be the most logical club to choose.

Now, do not interpret this to mean that the one-iron is not good for anything. It is, actually, a very good club for retrieving a ball that is out of bounds in knee-high weeds or grass. It could also be used to beat a snake should one decide to join the golfers on the course. However, a smart golfer would just let the snake continue across the course so not to have a negative impact on the golfer.

Golf can be a frustrating game at time during which he or she may feel the need to hit something. For these moments, a snake might do. However, during a bad round, taking out his or her resulting frustration may not be the best stress reliever. Miss once, and you may end up with more than frustration. The last thing you want to do is get bit.

Or, the one-iron can be used as a cane should a golfer sprain a knee or ankle. The golfer will then be able to limp back to the 19th hole or clubhouse for some rest and refreshment.

As you see, the one-iron may not be the best club to achieve the perfect golf swing and hit, but it may be the best choice for those moments when nothing is going right and the golfer needs to let out some frustration. Rather than a snake, perhaps taking it out on a tree would be better. The one-iron just takes up space. Go ahead, wrap it wound the nearest tree!

Golf Chippers Are Super Important Clubs

Golf Chippers Are Super Important Clubs

Golf Clubs

A long drive gets the ball close to the golfer's ultimate target, the hole. However, that drive does not always put the ball in the center of the green. Sometimes that small round object ends up on the green's edge. When that happens the smart golfer knows that the time has come to use one of his or her golf chippers.

A chipper has been designed for use on the edge of the putting green. At that point, the ball's position places it inside of some slightly taller grass. Because it has been weighted at the bottom, a chipper facilitates completion of the task that faces either the professional or the amateur, the task of getting the ball in the air.

Now a pitching wedge or a sand wedge can also send that small round object into the air. However, they lack the added features found in top quality golf chippers. Their shaft is upright, so that the golfers holding them can get closer to the object that they plan to hit. The golfer's position in relation to the object in the grass helps to determine the accuracy of his or her shot.

A few added characteristics help to guarantee success during the process of chipping towards the hole. One of those characteristics is a low center of gravity weight distribution. A second important characteristic relates to the presence of lines on the club head. Those lines can aid the process of lining up a shot. A third significant feature concerns the club's narrow hosel. The narrowness of that component counters the effect of any twisting, which might be caused by the surrounding grass. At the same time, the club's offset design keeps the golfer's hands ahead of the small round object hidden in those green blades.

Some of the newest golf chippers feature a special alignment system. In some cases that system relies almost exclusively on the presence of 2 stripes. Other clubs have additional alignment aids, which are either incorporated into or attached to the head or the shaft. Sometimes a turning mirror aids the task of lining up a chip shot. It lets the golfer see the ball and the hole at the same time. However, it does not eliminate the problems caused by parallax.

Parallax is a normal tendency taken by the eyes, one that accounts for the creation of optical illusions. It causes the eye to move off the center of the sight picture. The ideal chipper prevents the confusion resulting from parallax. It helps completion of a swing that puts the club's target close to the hole.

Are Your Used or New Golf Clubs Fake?

Are Your Used or New Golf Clubs Fake?

Golf Clubs

Ready to buy golf clubs? You found the right club, are you sure it is not a fake? It does not matter if you are looking for used golf clubs or new golf clubs. The industry making these fakes have been around for a while and can trick many into believing they are the real thing. I found this article that is almost 3 years old where CBS 60 minutes investigated the growing number of fakes coming out of China. The fakes have improved and are even harder to detect since then. So how can you tell a fake golf club from an authentic golf club?

I asked the Scott Francey from Global Golf - one of the largest online new and used golf clubs companies. Scott has over 17 years experience in the golf industry and his department handles about 12,000 different used and new golf clubs every month.

Al: What brands and models are the most faked?

Scott: Many of the top brands like Callaway and Taylor Made are faked most often. We very rarely see fakes from Ping.

Al: What are some of the main things your team looks for when checking to see if a golf club is a fake or not?

Scott: First thing we look for is the serial number. Around 2002, Callaway started adding serial numbers to their clubs. On woods are printed very faintly on the back of the heel of the head. The serial numbers on their irons on under the grip so they are harder to check. Mizuno and many other brands have their serial numbers on the hosel (part of the head that connects to the shaft) of each wood and iron. Next we look at the logo's, lettering, and coloring. Many of the fakes use different lettering styles. The color of the club is noticeably different as well. Callaway uses specific unique colors on their clubs. If the shading is a little off, we investigate further because it may be a fake. Some even have misspellings. Instead of "Callaway Fusion" it may say something like "Callaway Fuzion." One of the last things we look at is the shaft. Another trick is adding a fake shaft to a real head. This is very difficult to find, but the best place to look is the ferrule (the piece that connects the shaft to the head). If it is not a ferrule the brand uses, the shaft was replaced at one point and it may be a fake. Because we handle so many clubs, we can also tell if the weight is too high or too low for a particular club. If a fake is using a different metal, shaft or head, it will most likely have a different weight.

After Scott's interview, I visited some of the brand websites and here is information from some of the top brands concerning fakes:

Taylor Made writes: "Authentic Taylor Made golf clubs have a serial number on the hosel of each wood and on the 5-iron or the 7-iron (depending on the model) in each set of irons. If your club does not have that serial number, it may not be a genuine Taylor Made."

Callaway writes: "If the club is a driver, or a #3 wood, does it have a serial number on the hosel? If you are purchasing a set of irons, does the 8-iron have a serial number on it? If the answer is "no," there is a very high probability that these clubs could be counterfeit. If the answer is "yes," but the clubs being offered fit other warning signs in this bulletin (such as a suspiciously low price), be cautious. Some counterfeiters are putting bogus serial numbers on clubs. If you have any hesitation, contact your authorized retailer or Callaway Golf Customer Service. Remember, merely because a club has a serial number does not mean that it is authentic. If the clubs include models that are supposed to be titanium, does a magnet cling to them? If it does, the clubs are counterfeit. A magnet will not cling to titanium."

So what is a consumer to do? First, make sure you are buying from a reputable company. Many companies, like Global Golf that sell used golf clubs have experts that handle so many clubs, they examine the clubs and can determine whether or not the club is a fake and remove it from inventory. If you go to a store to purchase your clubs, go with someone that already has the brand and model you are looking for so they can look at the clubs and try to detect anything that may be different. If you decide to shop for clubs on your own, look for serial numbers or any irregularities in the club. Follow the steps above to find the differences: serial number, logo, fonts, color, ferrule, and weight.

If you are concerned your club is a fake, contact the manufacturers directly. They will be able to tell you, sometimes over the phone, if your club is a fake.
